Tea for a child – what can a baby not drink?

Tea, for a reason, is one of the oldest products that we as a human species, we consume essentially regularly. It is healthy, has a positive effect on our whole body and most importantly, it tastes good. However, even such a good product is not recommended for everyone. For example, pregnant women are aware of the fact that they should not drink tea because the theina contained in it is not advisable to them. Often, however, we stubbornly give our children various teas, and for flu, lack of appetite, on stomach problems. But is it really a good idea?

We do not give ordinary infants tea

This is the basic knowledge that we should pay attention to in this discussion. Regardless of whether we are talking about herbal, green, black or white tea, it comes from the same bushes that contain theine. The darker tea The more theine has in it, but the rule is that infants should not get tea in any quantity, regardless of what type of drink we are talking about.

Teina contained in tea, can make our child hyperactive and irritable. Therefore, tea cannot be drunk women, because Teina gets into milk and can cause similar reactions to those that can occur in an infant, after administering a brew.

At what age can a child drink tea?

Basically, up to three years of age, a child should not get teas that could contain teine. A preschooler can already get the first infusions of tea.

However, we must remember that the first tea for the child should be relatively weak, and we also have to observe the toddler’s condition after he drinks tea. Tea brewing time should be about 5 minutes.

Thanks to this Teina will be neutralized. It is also worth remembering that both green and white tea can be brewed many times. Thanks to this, she will have even less theine.

Instead of tea, can you give a child something else?

By all means, there are many specially prepared herbal infusions and teas, which we can give the child as long as it does not have allergies to certain ingredients. A small child can be given, among others:

  • Mint infusion that soothes abdominal pain and stimulates digestion;
  • Italian fennel infusion, which soothes colic, also has a diastolic and calming effect;
  • Chamomile infusion, which has antibacterial and anti -inflammatory, and also soothes pain when teething;
  • A wild rose infusion is a great choice for a child who suffers from a cold. The wild rose strengthens our body;
  • Infusion of fruits such as linden or elderberry raspberries allows you to lower body temperature;

As you can see, we can give a child various infusions or delicate teas. However, we must approach this in the right way. We remember about the above -mentioned rules.
